Unfortunately, the temple was burnt down during the Taiping Rebellion (1851-1864) in the Qing Dynasty. The temple was first built in 247 AD during the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280) and was relocated to its current location from the bank of the Wusong River during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279).
